Tim Ogden

Timothy Ogden is Managing Director of the Financial Access Initiative, an adjunct professor at NYU Wagner, and a senior fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Business Ownership Initiative and of the Financial Security Program. Ogden serves as chairman of the board of GiveWell, and is an editor of the faiV, a widely read email newsletter on financial inclusion, digital finance, evidence-based policy and economic development.

Ogden is the leader of influential, multi-site financial diaries research projects. He was the Managing Director of the US Financial Diaries, and is currently leading the Small Firm Diaries, a multi-country initiative tracking the week-to-week finances of small firms. Tim writes and speaks frequently on topics of financial inclusion, financial services innovation, social investment and philanthropy.
