Amb. Brian McFeeters

Amb. Brian D. McFeeters (ret.) currently serves as interim President and CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council. Amb. McFeeters joined the Council in 2023 as Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director in Singapore. Throughout his diplomatic career, he held key positions around the world, including in Indonesia, South Korea, and Malaysia. He also played a central role in advancing U.S. business interests through multilateral engagements at the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels and the U.S. Mission to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris.

Having spent half of his 32-year Foreign Service career in Asia, he most recently served as U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia from February 2021 to August 2023. Prior to that, he held several senior roles, including Senior Advisor to the Counselor of the Department of State, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, and Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Indonesia, among other key assignments.

Before his diplomatic career, Amb. McFeeters worked in the private sector as an analyst at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force.  He holds an M.A. in International Affairs from SAIS Johns Hopkins, an M.S. in Chemistry from the University of New Mexico, and both a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame.
