Hari Menon
Hari Menon is the Director, South and South-East Asia at the Gates Foundation.
In this role, Hari leads teams across our India and the ASEAN region to accelerate progress towards Sustainable Development Goals related to maternal health and nutrition, elimination of infectious diseases, sanitation, financial inclusion, agriculture, and gender equality. This work involves building strong partnerships with government, philanthropic partners, private sector partners to develop and scale innovations that can lead to transformative outcomes for populations in need.
Prior to his current role, Hari led the Gates Foundation’s global team for policy and advocacy and program communications based in Seattle and previously also held various programmatic and policy roles covering India and the South and South-East Asia across countries like Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Singapore.
Hari has previous work experience in the consumer goods and information technology sectors with companies like Colgate Palmolive and Infosys Technologies. He holds a post graduate degree in management and trained as a mechanical engineer.
