Owureku Asare

Owureku is currently the Ag Head of Fintech and Innovation Department of the Bank of Ghana, where he is part of the leadership team shaping the future of digital finance in Ghana. He plays a key role in driving innovation, financial inclusion, cross border payment solution and regulatory excellence at the heart of the country’s digital financial transformation.

Prior to this role, Owureku served in leadership capacities as a Digital Transformation Specialist, with over 20 years of experience in Digital Financial Services, Banking, and Payments. At Ecobank Group, he held senior roles and led the bank’s digital financial services strategy across 33 African countries. Owureku brings with him a robust network of senior executives across the telecommunications, fintech, development, and financial sectors, both within Africa and globally.
